Despite reports that the 5th season of Arrow would be his last, Stephen Amell will not be leaving the hit series any time soon. In fact, during a recent Q&A session on Facebook, Amell opened up to fans about this latest rumor. Amell promised that he would remain with the show until its end, even if that means playing Oliver Queen through 2019.

In the candid Facebook session, Amell explained how his contact goes well beyond the 5th season of Arrow, and debunked rumors that he is planning to depart from the show next year.

“Facebook… I keep reading that I’m leaving Arrow. I’m not,” Amell told his fans. “I have a contract that runs through 2019. At least. Now… That doesn’t mean Arrow will run that long, but if it does… I’ll be here.”

Rumors that Amell was set to leave the show first surfaced in recent weeks. The speculation was based on Amell’s comments that the show was originally slated to last five seasons. However, based on his latest social media session, fans can rest assured knowing that Amell is not leaving Arrow any time soon.

In addition to the rumors of his departure, Amell also addressed speculation about him joining The CW’s Supernatural. Amell was thought to be up for a part in the series involving a professional wrestling storyline. Given Amell’s history with martial arts and his recent wrestling debut on WWE, the actor seemed a perfect fit for the part.

However, although Amell is a big fan of the show, he revealed that he had no plans to be included in a future episode of Supernatural. “If they asked me, sure? If I was available, sure,” he stated. “Have they asked me? No. Would I be available? No.”

At the same time, there’s been speculation that Amell might be set to star in a future movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. According to Cosmic Book News, Amell addressed these rumors as well, and revealed that he has not been offered any roles with Marvel, though he wouldn’t turn one down if the studio made an offer.

“That’s another one of those absolutely preposterous rumors. Here’s the deal: I’m an actor. I like acting roles. Because an actor tends to be defined by not being unemployed. So if a role came up… I would always listen,” he shared during the Q&A session. “Does that include Marvel characters? Of course it does. Have there been any offers, auditions, or even general meetings…? No.”

While we all wait eagerly to discover what’s next for Amell, the actor is set to appear in the upcoming film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. Amell is set to play the role of Casey Jones in the movie, which is set to open in theaters on June 3rd.

Until then, fans will have plenty of opportunity to see Amell on the small screen in his role on Arrow. Which is expected to return on January 20th on The CW.

Stephen: Sings “O’Canada,” For Fans on Facebook

Stephen Amell has been campaigning for weeks now to get Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson elected to start in next Tuesday’s MLB All-Star Game in Cincinnati, and it was officially announced Sunday, July 5th that Donaldson will be starting at third for the American League. Perhaps even more impressive, however, is that Donaldson did not simply lead all Major League Baseball players in voting but broke the record for most All-Star votes of all time, with his total number of votes coming in at 14,090,188, over three million more than Josh Hamilton’s 2012 all-time single-season record of 11,073,744.

One of the promises he had made was to sing the Canadian national anthem. And so what did Amell do after it was officially revealed that Donaldson was going to be starting on the American League All-Star team? He went to Facebook, as he does, and posted a video of him singing for fans, writing “A promise is a promise!”

However, as a fan of ArrowThe Flash, and musicals in general, Stephen Amell proving that he can sing pretty darn well in the video above makes me only determined to see one thing happen now: an Arrow and The Flash crossover musical episode. Stephen Amell, Grant Gustin, Rick Cosnett, Carlos Valdes, and, of course, Jesse L. Martin (just listen to “Seasons of Love” or “I’ll Cover You” from Rent) have all proven they can sing, and I’m sure that the rest of the Arrow and Flash casts can carry a tune (also, bonus points if Victor Garber is somehow in the episode).

Fans have been wanting a musical episode for a while now, and although talk of one has maybe died down a little bit, with this video, the fiery passion inside them will be reignited. It needs to happens. Please, make it happen, Arrow and Flash writers.

O’ Canada. A promise is a promise! Congratulations to Josh Donaldson of the Toronto Blue Jays!!
